Borewell water routinely runs 1.5-3x the municipal figure. Buy a Rs 150 TDS meter, test your actual tap, and choose based on that number.
Does RO waste water?
Yes - typically 2-3 litres rejected per litre purified. If your TDS is under 200, choosing UV/UF instead avoids that waste entirely.
