Verdict

💡 Fine for now. From year 3, check sidewalls for hairline cracks at every service, and keep pressures right - underinflation ages tyres fastest.
Also buy smart: when purchasing NEW tyres, reject stock older than 1 year - you are paying for shelf life you will never use.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the DOT date?

On the sidewall - the last four digits of the DOT string. 2322 means week 23 of 2022. Sometimes it is only on the inner-facing side.

Tread looks fine - replace anyway?

Past 5 years, yes. Rubber oxidises and hardens from within; wet grip degrades even with legal tread depth. Spares age too.
